The hotel is located along a narrow and steep street close to Galata Tower. It has an excellent view over the city from the rooftop terrace, where the breakfast area is. It is a modest hotel, with basic facilities, but everything was working well (e.g. internet, shower, daily cleaning), and the people at the reception were friendly and spoke English. Behind the hotel is a green area (exceptional in Istanbul) with a ruin of one of the towers of the city walls, and an old bell tower of a church.

The staff are exceptional, especially Ibrahim who went above and beyond his way to ensure my stay was comfortable and guided me about the city and public transport. Upon my arrival, he offered me tea and a Turkish delight which was a lovely treat after a long journey. The rooms were cleaned daily, and the aircon worked flawlessly. The views from the hotel rooftop are breathtaking.
